This past weekend, I went to visit my friend Thelma. After we'd decided on a weekend, Thelma found a 5k nearby. This would be her second 5k race. Super exciting! The race was to raise money for people in Africa; to provide clean running water for their villages.
We had a great race! Unfortunately, the temperature was something like 56 degrees Celcius. When we first arrived, it felt pretty nice, but after waiting for an hour for the race to start, it sure got sweaty.
The course was beautiful but extremely hilly. I saw some of my favorite wildflowers on the side of the road, so took the opportunity to pick one and share it with Thelma. We almost got hit by a truck right after that, but that flower sure smelled nice!
